In an interview, Jan Makela, President and CEO of GE Healthcare Imaging, shared insights on the company’s future, emphasizing their new mission: creating a world free of healthcare limitations.


Makela introduced the "3D" approach, focusing on Devices, Digitalization, and Disease Pathways. GE Healthcare, already a leader in medical imaging technology, aims to enhance clinical insights through advanced devices and digital integration. The company is also investing heavily in AI and IT to simplify complex processes and improve patient outcomes across the entire treatment journey.


In response to the post-pandemic landscape, Makela highlighted the need to improve efficiency and productivity in healthcare. GE Healthcare is rapidly advancing digital transformation across radiology, with a focus on automation and AI integration.


Makela also noted GE’s active monitoring of AI trends like ChatGPT and its collaborations with leading Korean companies, including partnerships with Monitor Corporation and Coreline Soft to develop AI-driven imaging solutions. These efforts underscore GE Healthcare's commitment to precision medicine and patient-centric care.
